The Nyabumera washing station is located in the Mahembe sector at the entrance to the Nyamasheke valley. The station works with more than 1,200 farmers in the area, has 20 collection points, and employs 80 to 100 temporary workers during peak season, 70% of whom are women. Water is drawn from a local spring and treated before discharge, and process waste is used for composting.
